Marditech undertakes to operate and manage MAEPS, the 81 hectares park comprises largely of outdoor facilities and with easy access to highways and proximity to the KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport), it offers tremendous potential to Malaysia as a host to exposition with “very large” exhibits such as agricultural machineries, oil & gas, transportation, and landscaping displays. The present venues in Klang Valley are largely suited for indoor exhibitions and located within the heart of the city somewhat restricting access for bulky industrial items. Notwithstanding that, MAEPS is embedded inside an academic campus specialising in agro and bio fields and technology. Given the emphasis by the Government in agricultural development sector evidenced from the increase in budget allocation from RM7.7bil in the 8th Malaysia Plan (8MP) to RM11.4bil in the 9MP, MAEPS’s coming into existence is a strategically sound move that will help to promote agricultural and agro-based industries.
